Beginners and Improving Beginners fiddle classes
Thursday evenings at the Washhouse, Adelphi Grove, Portobello, EH15 1AP
From 20th September 2018
You’ll need your own instrument to attend these classes. There’s no need to be able to read music to join Fun Fiddle classes. You can use the drop-down menu above to see a short summary of the things the Beginners and Improving Beginners have covered so far.
Beginners fiddle class from 8 – 9.15pm
This class is a continuation of the Absolute Beginner’s class which started in January 2018. The beginners class is suitable for any adult who has only been learning to play the fiddle for a short while. We’ll be focusing on developing good technique, and learning to play while staying relaxed. We’ll learn a few simple tunes during the term – and undoubtedly have some fun along the way!
Improving beginners fiddle class from 6.45 – 8pm
The improving beginners class is a continuation of the absolute beginner’s class which started in January 2017. The class is suitable for anyone who has already been learning for around a year.
We’ll be learning a few more tunes by ear, and consolidating on the basic technique we’ve already learned. We’ll also have plenty of fun while we pick up some more fiddle basics.
Fun Fiddle is also running fiddle classes at Intermediate and Advanced levels.
If you’re unsure if you’re at a level to be able to join either of these classes, or would like a refresher before joining, it may be possible to take some individual lessons before the classes start. Contact me for more information.
